Critical Dates for Music Program

The following schedule will start on the week of November 17th to allow the ensembles a chance to rehearse together: Concert Band - November 17th and 18th, Monday and Tuesday Concert Band - November 24th and 25th, Monday and Tuesday Concert Band - December 1st and 2nd, Monday and Tuesday Concert Band - December 8th, Monday String Orchestra - November 20th and 21st, Thursday and Friday String Orchestra - December 4th and 5th, Thursday and Friday Jazz Band - November 19th, Wednesday. Jazz Band - November 26th, one-hour early release. 1:30 - 3:15 p.m. Jazz Band - December 3rd, Wednesday Dress Rehearsal all groups - Tuesday, December 9th on stage. 2:30 - 4:15 p.m.

Instrumental Music Parent Meeting

There will a parent meeting for the instrumental program on Monday, November 24th at 7:30 p.m. The agenda will include the upcoming concert, possible festival dates and program update and feedback.

Language Immersion Learning After Middle School-What's Happening?

Monday, November 24th from 6:30-8:30 pm Parents and guardians are invited to a discussion of current options at the high school level. Karen Kodama will discuss her work and efforts at the district level to continue and expand the program. Following that will be a discussion of Roosevelt's current Spanish language class offerings and ideas for offering programming at other high schools. We look forward to learning what perceptions, expectations and hopes you have for continuing language immersion after middle school. The meeting will be held in the library at Lincoln. Please come if you can! If we want a continuation of language immersion at high school we need to be informed about what's happening and possibly advocate for alternatives.
